Patients of Providence Children’s Hospital send Get-Well Message to Padres, Travis Jankowski

Jun 25, 2019
EL PASO, Texas — In hearing the news of Padres player Travis Jankowski’s broken wrist, the patients of Providence Children’s Hospital in El Paso, Texas send him a special get-well message.

It was just about a year ago when the then El Paso Chihuahuas player paid a special visit to the kids at Providence Children’s Hospital and made his rounds visiting patients and even playing games with them.  One of the patients Jankowski had a significant impact on was ten-year-old Malakhi Olvera.  Upon getting called up to the Padres, Jankowski named Olvera player for the day for The El Paso Chihuahuas.

Now the patients are returning the favor with a special message to Jankowski to get better soon.

“It was pretty cool that he took time to come and visit us when we weren’t feeling good.  I’ll never forget meeting him,” said Malakhi Olvera.  “He was there for us and now we will be there for him.  Get better Travis!”

Patients gathered to draw different pictures and write special messages for a speedy recovery.
