Feb 4, 2021

EL PASO, TX – The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus is proud to announce it has been designated a Level IV Maternal Care Center, the highest designation possible by the Texas Department of State and Health Services.

Hospitals receiving a Level IV designation provide comprehensive care for pregnant and postpartum patients, from those with low-risk conditions to the most complex medical, surgical and or obstetrical conditions that present a high-risk of maternal/neonatal morbidity.

“Having a baby is an exciting time in any mother’s life and being able to reassure our moms and families that they are receiving the highest level of care helps relieve any stress that may come during this time,” said Nicholas Tejeda, Group CEO for The Hospitals of Providence. “This has been a two-year journey our team has worked toward to ensure our community has access to high-quality maternity care.”

This recent designation is one of many The Hospitals of Providence Memorial Campus has achieved to provide moms and babies a higher level of care. The campus also holds a Level IV designation for its Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) offering the highest level of care for babies born prematurely or with a critical illness. In 2018, the Memorial Campus introduced its Obstetric (OB) Hospitalist Program offering 24/7 in-house obstetrical and emergency room coverage by Board Certified OB physicians, providing optimal treatment for women who present to the hospital with obstetric concerns or emergencies.

“This is an incredible achievement for our team and a testament to their dedication to provide the highest level of care to our obstetric patients and new babies,” said Tejeda. “Our hospital is committed to caring for women in our community by ensuring we provide high-quality, specialized care for moms and babies and the best possible outcomes.”
